![]() I then popped in the OS9 CD and installed the system to this new drive. It completed successfully and the partition's icon appeared on the desktop - 'so far, so good' I thought. Since I have two of these drives, I used one to try a format with the ATTO util. It correctly reports the drive type/model as IBM DCHS504F and the size of 4.24GB. It will let me format the drive, but I'm hesitant to do so with such an old program.Īfter some searching I found the ATTO ExpressPro-Tools util (v2.8.1). I first dug up Lido 7 (old, I know), which reports the drive size as 8652MB - roughly double the actual capacity. OK, I can understand that but I wanted to get more info than what Drive Setup provides. ![]() In the drive list, this drive is listed as " " and when I click on its entry, it reports "Cannot initialize a disk with non 512-byte sectors." My goal is to use the IBM as the boot drive. ![]() These drives (I have 2) were advertised as being "Mac compatible" but Drive Setup won't format them - this is when booting the system from an HD that already has 9.1 installed. I'm having difficulty trying to use an IBM 4.5GB SCSI drive in a PowerMac 7600 (304MB, upgraded to G3-450). ![]()
